Seafood processors, HJ Nolan (Dublin) and Carr & Sons Seafood Ltd (Killalla) are to merge in March, to ‘successfully keep customers at the leading edge of fish processing through innovation and quality’.
The businesses will complement each other in terms of product range and market, to establish ‘the strongest seafood business in the Irish seafood sector’, a statement reads.
The Grade ‘A’ BRC Accreditation facility on the Ireland’s west coast Wild Atlantic Way will be supported by a Dublin-based sales office.
Founded in 1912, HJ Nolan Ltd continues as a family-run business with George Nolan as chairman, grandson of the founder, Harry James. Their product range uses premium smoked and fresh fish for domestic and world-wide markets.
Established in 1946, Carr & Sons Seafood Ltd was acquired by the Mondi Group AB, Sweden in 2014. Product range includes chilled pre-packed smoked, fish and ready-to-eat seafood for the retail trade.
